Today was a fun day out on a location portrait shoot with Lucia at a parkland in Benfleet Essex. It was Lucia’s first portrait shoot with the exception of school photos. I requested a few different outfits she could wear, but clothing to keep her warm as it was a cold day although lovely and sunny.
I used a park bench in this photo, sat Lucia with the sun high to her left and I used an off camera flash light on a stand behind her to the right to illuminate her hair. I asked Lucia to look away from camera for this shot to give it a different feel.
After an outfit change, I took this photo of Lucia on the path we had been walking along, the sun was up to the right in this scene behind Lucia and I used a single off camera flash to my right opposite the sun. I got Lucia to look towards the camera for this photo.
In this photo Lucia’s coat was handy as the sun went behind clouds so it was very cold at this point. For this photo I used a single off camera flash to my right up high acting as my sun. Again here Lucia looking away from camera has produced a nice portrait.
This photo was captured using the same setup as above with just a single off camera flash up high to my right, I put them high so the angle of the light is coming down just as it does from the sun.
Here I processed the photo in colour as the scarf had plenty of it. I again got Lucia to look towards the camera for this photo. This was taken with a single off camera flash up high to my right.
